Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on establishing the Subcommittee on digital economy under the Government Committee on the use of information technology to improve the quality of life and the conditions for conducting entrepreneurship activities. The Head of the Government announced thatduring a meeting on the implementation of the program “Digital Economy of the Russian Federation”, which was also attended by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin.
"Digital economy is a space where all authorities, businesses, science and people who deal with these issues can work together. In order to coordinate this interaction, we will establish a subcommittee on digital economy, which will solve the tasks in the operational mode. It will be comprised of representatives from federal agencies, the Government, the Presidential Administration, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and the Government Analytical Center,” stressed Dmitry Medvedev.
The members of the subcommittee were approved by the relevant decree. The team includes State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Oleg Fomichev, as the Deputy Chairman of the subcommittee, and Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Savva Shipov. The subcommittee is headed by the First Deputy Head of the Executive Office of the Government of the Russian Federation Maxim Akimov.
The program “Digital Economy of the Russian Federation” was approved by the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation and is now included in the list of the main vectors of the country's strategic development until 2018 and through 2025.
